What is pilates ?

Pilates Matwork classes lead you through a series of exercises that encourage functionality and awareness of movement, cultivating a balance between mobility/flexibility and stability/strength of the skeletal and muscular systems in the body.

Pilates is a movement practice that focuses on connecting mind and body, and works towards achieving a balanced and efficient moving body.

Your main tool is you! We will sometimes use small equipment such as bands, balls, foam rollers and wobble boards to aid and challenge, and add more of an element of play.

Hello, I want you to move!

Having come to Pilates through my contemporary dance training and a period of rehabilitation from illness, I find endless inspiration in sharing this technique with others and working with them to explore their physicality, and to find ease, understanding and enjoyment in movement.

 

For me, Pilates is fundamentally about humans and their relationship to both themselves and their physical environment. I am fascinated by the moving body, and constantly curious about the connections that are to be found between movement and all aspects of life..

 

The Pilates Corner brings together bodies and personalities, to laugh, talk and move together, in the UK, France and beyond…

An individual lesson, or duet with a friend, is a great opportunity to work at a more personal level, allowing your body & brain to really understand it’s Pilates practice.

 

Private: 35€

Duet / Trio: 20€ per person
